South StreetRichard Herring - Talking Cock
Thursday 23 May 2013, 8pm Richard Herring returns to South Street in 2013 with this re-staging of 'Talking Cock' for it's 10th anniversary. It's an object of shame and pride; it inspires laughter and fear; it's a symbol of power, yet it's incredibly fragile; it can be a pound of flesh or an ounce of winkles, it can be used to express both love and hate; it creates life, it can condemn us to death... and it can do wees as well. How can one tiny flap of sponge and sinew be all these things? Richard Herring intends to find out in this tenth anniversary update of the critically acclaimed show that exposes the truth about men and their flutes of love. Sell-out at the Edinburgh Fringe 2002 and Melbourne Comedy Festival 2003, performed in over a dozen European countries, and published as a book by Ebury press. "Man's answer to the Vagina Monologues" Guardian "An impassioned and thoughtful disquisition on masculinity, cultural identity and sexual anthropology… but there are still loads of jokes about porridge guns." Observer "… as funny and fascinating for women as it is for men. I loved it." Scotsman Sold Out Subject to booking fee |
